Purpose

At Rū Tampa, we believe in reflecting the heart of Jesus by caring for those in need. The Benevolence Fund exists to provide short-term, emergency assistance to individuals or families within our church community, with the goal of offering hope and support during difficult seasons.

Philosophy

We are committed to stewarding the resources entrusted to us with wisdom and integrity. Benevolence assistance is designed to provide temporary help during hardship—not ongoing financial support. Our desire is to meet both practical and spiritual needs while walking with people toward lasting health and stability.

Eligibility

Benevolence assistance is considered for individuals who:

Are active members of the church (aka Squad)—serving on a team, leading, or consistently participating in a grūp.
Are experiencing a verifiable financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances (such as medical emergencies, job loss, or family crises).
Have taken reasonable steps to seek solutions through other available resources and support systems.

While our priority is to care for those actively building and serving within our church community, we may also prayerfully consider unique needs outside the church on a case-by-case basis, as God leads and as funds allow.

Types of Assistance

Assistance may include, but is not limited to:

Rent or utility payments to prevent eviction or disconnection.
Grocery or gas gift cards.
Emergency travel expenses.
Essential medical or prescription costs.

Please note:

Payments are made directly to service providers (such as a landlord or utility company).
Cash will not be given directly to individuals.
