Production Director (PD) Role Description

Also referred to as “Service Producer” or “Stage Manager.”

A Production Director leads the team that executes every technical aspect of the Sunday service in the Auditorium.

Key Responsibilities of a Production Director

1. Set the Tone for the Team

• Your demeanor sets the emotional temperature for the entire crew.
• Remaining calm and in control reassures the team.
• You model how to communicate effectively under pressure and respond to last-minute changes.

2. Keep a Pulse on the Morning

• Oversee:
• Start times
• Band rehearsals
• Cue-to-cue transitions
• Content walkthroughs
• Ensure everything runs on time. Lead like it’s a team sport.

3. Reinforce Standards

• Oversee execution of:
• Lyric timing
• Lighting cues
• Camera cuts
