“Authenticity requires a certain measure of vulnerability, transparency, and integrity.” –Janet Louise Stephenson
- don’t try to make people like them.
- don’t pass judgment.
- forge their own paths.
- are generous. They don’t hold back because they’re not afraid you’ll outshine them.
- treat everyone with respect. Why? Because they believe they’re no better than anyone else.
- aren’t motivated by material things. They’re happiness comes from within.
- are trustworthy. If they say or do something it’s because they believe in it.
- are thick-skinned. They don’t treat criticism, critique or confrontation as a personal attack.
- put away their phones. Genuine people focus all their energy on conversation or meeting.
- aren’t driven by ego. They don’t seek the limelight because they don’t need admiration to feel good about themselves.
- aren’t hypocrites. They practice what they preach.
- don’t brag. People who boast or brag are insecure and believe that if they don’t they won’t get noticed.
